SUMMARY:A Soul in Search—with Katherine
DESCRIPTION:Katherine will emerge from her shell and share some of her quest for self-knowledge through her provocative artwork. This being a showing of original works that have been influenced by James Hillman’s ideas of soul making\, polytheism\, personifying\, and a poetic basis of mind. The artworks are an exploration of the artist’s feelings about herself and the soul’s relationship to Love\, Death\, Beauty\, and Emotion. The audience will be invited to respond to the work\, and interesting conversations will ensue.

SUMMARY:The Earth Has a Soul: Jung on Nature\, Technology & Modern Life
DESCRIPTION:Given our inescapable awareness that the environmental crisis on Earth is deepening\, we continue to consult Jung for his insights concerning Anima Mundi\, the soul of the world. As he writes: “Nature\, psyche\, and life appear to me like divinity unfolded—what more could I ask for?” \n\nWe continue readings from the anthology edited by Meredith Sabini: \n\nChapter Five: We Have Conquered Nature Is a Mere Slogan\nChapter Six: Our Civilizing Potential Has Led Us Down the Wrong Path\nChapter Seven: We Know Nothing of Man\nChapter Eight: Nature Must Not Win but Cannot Lose

SUMMARY:Proprioception\, an Evening of Dialogue—with Steven M. Rosen
DESCRIPTION:Joining us from Vancouver tonight\, Steve Rosen will describe and engage in conversation regarding proprioception\, as he puts it\, “a phenomenological reversal of the prevailing orientation of thinking.” \n\nHere is an abstract taken from Steve’s books Topologies of the Flesh (2006) and The Self-Evolving Cosmos (2008): \n\nThe task of thinking is to think proprioceptively. We already know the etymology of the word “Appropriation”: it means “to one’s own\,” from the Latin ad\, to\, and proprius\, one’s own. Proprio-ception is the taking or accepting of its own. Proprioception calls for a conscious acknowledgement of this lifeworld action that integrates the reflective and prereflective. We must function proprioceptively.

SUMMARY:Alchemy\, Gnosis\, and the Subtle Body: Navigating the In-between through the Map of Kabbalah—with Eva Rider
DESCRIPTION:How do we hold the paradoxical tension of opposites to receive the Gnosis that is the birthright of each of us at this moment between chaos and transformation? At this Kairos moment between worlds\, we will explore the meaning of Gnosis in the Individuation journey and its relationship to the psychoid realm known as the subtle body as it expresses itself through dreams\, visions\, imagination\, and art. Join me in an exploration through the map of the Tree of Life linking above and below to the inner and outer worlds. \n\nEva Rider MA\, MFT is a Jungian depth psychotherapist\, workshop leader\, and presenter with a private practice spanning thirty years. She has taught in the US\, Canada\, and teaches internationally online. Eva’s teaching and psychotherapeutic work incorporates dreamwork\, astrology\, tarot with fairy tale\, myth\, poetry\, music\, and movement based in psyche/soma as revealed through the Hermetic tree of life. Eva Rider is a graduate of McGill University and John F. Kennedy University where she taught as adjunct instructor. Eva is a graduate of the Marion Woodman BodySoul Rhythms® Leadership Training of 2007 and affiliate instructor.
