Declaration—A Play by Steve LaRocque
February 19 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Based on actual events in 1777 when a woman printer is called upon to make new copies of the Declaration of Independence to share with the colonies. What follows is her story with the 2nd Continental Congress, who are stationed nearby, and lots of discussion/reflection on the actual meaning of the document for women at the time and in terms of how tyranny and democracy actually figure in any government, especially this one. This play is very timely for Women’s History Month, as well as for the 250th year of the anniversary of the Declaration to say nothing of its political relevance in our current circumstances. 5 actors, Ron Genauer, Richard Boynton, Pat Horsley, Susan Keenan, and Suzanne Sturn.
