Jung Legacy Series: James Hillman’s Revisioning Psychology —with Rev G.F. Kohn, PhD

James Hillman’s seminal work Revisioning Psychology is our next adventure in following the trajectories of depth psychology in our Jung Legacy Series on the 4th Thursday of each month. Hillman developed what he termed “Archetypal Psychology” in the direction of “Soul Making’—a more aesthetic and “polytheistic” approach to the life of Psyche and the archetypes of the collective unconscious. Hillman has been a major influence on the depth psychology approach pursued at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara where his archives are now held. We look forward to many nights of deep sharing and fruitful discussion of this most insightful work.

Alchemy, and the Tree of Life —with Eva Rider, MA, LMFT

We find ourselves living in a time of unprecedented dissolution and change. How do we orient ourselves in time and space as our known reality is dissolving and shifting on personal, cultural and global levels? How do we bridge the worlds of Spirit and Matter and find pathways to integrate, balance and bring meaning in these times? Applying a Jungian lens to the ancient glyph of the Tree of Life and its Hermetic underpinnings illuminates the process of transmutation we are currently navigating. Entering the Imaginal realm through Image, Symbol, and Metaphor, we will explore how the alchemists’ goal of Squaring the Circle is a process of Spirit animating Matter through the mediating vehicle of Soul.

Eva Rider is a Jungian depth psychotherapist, dream worker, workshop leader, and instructor. She is a graduate of the Marion Woodman BodySoul®Leadership Training, SoulCollage®facilitator, and Certified Hypnotherapist. Eva has served as a Board Member for the Depth Psychology Alliance.
